This week I have been pondering...Don’t you quit. Words from Elder Jeffry R Holland of the quorum of the twelve apostles. These words strike my heart with encouragement and strength to keep going. Life is hard and some days seem impossible. As I ponder my life and the things I have before me both good and hard I find myself going back to these scriptures which also give me encouragement strength and determination.
In the Book of 2 Nephi 31 chapter and 3 Nephi 11 chapter I am
drawn to the 7-12 and the verses 18-41.
In 2 Nephi we learn how Jesus Christ humbled himself (the Son of God) to
do the will of his father. He was completely obedient to all the things he was
asked to do and suffer. He then asks us to “follow thou me”. As we follow his supreme example we can in
fact find strength, encouragement, help, comfort and peace. These things will
then enable us to endure with a perfect brightness of hope in good things that
will surely come.
I know from personal experience that when our hearts are breaking or we are overwhelmed with life and don't know where to turn or when we forget which way to go or which course to pursue, God waits to help us. As we turn to him in prayer in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ we will be guided and helped to know what to do and to have hope for a brighter future. The key to enduring our trials here on earth in our daily lives is to follow the Savior and believe on his words when he tells us in Mathew 29 Don’t you quit. Words
from Elder Jeffry R Holland of the quorum of the twelve apostles strike my
heart with encouragement and strength to keep going. Life is hard and some days seem
impossible.
I invite you to listen to Jesus' invitation in Mathew 11:29-30 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
I know following these words we will be able to keep going and not quit
